Eufy X10 Pro Omni is the best robot vacuum for most people. This self-empty robot vacuum and mop checks pretty much all our boxes. The suction power is excellent, pulling all kinds of debris, fluff and hair and fluff out of our tester's carpet (although it did flick larger debris about rather than sucking it up – a problem with almost all robovacs). It's relatively quiet in all but it's very highest vacuum setting, too.

With a 30-day capacity HEPA bagless self-empty base, less maintenance is needed. Wifi connectivity makes controlling the vacuum simple. Dark grey color blends well with any home decor. Highly recommend for its performance and convenience.

I really like Roomba’s dock design, which, while large enough to accommodate two rather small water tanks, is the most stylish of all the multifunction docks.

(It also doesn’t lose my maps as often as other robots.) I’ve also noticed that the newer Roombas (j9 and 10 Max) suffer from the occasional navigation glitches, occasionally getting confused and needing to be rebooted.

The X40 has AI-powered obstacle detection, although Roborock’s is just a bit better. However, both still get tripped up occasionally by pencils and other small items — something that never happens with the Roombas with this feature.

We were also pleased with the streamlined self-empty feature of this robot vac. We checked the bin's capacity every other day to make sure dog fur was getting cleared, but homes without any pets or that track less dirt and debris could probably go longer—up to 60 days without emptying, depending on your cleaning habits. We didn't encounter many issues with the Ecovacs Deebot T9+, but it's worth noting that larger items trapped in the machine can affect both suction and the self-empty feature (a screw got jammed at one point).

Plus, the addition of a side mop and flexi-arm brush that extends from the bot helped with cleaning edges and corners.

The Freo X Ultra's mopping capabilities are not quite as impressive as its vacuuming, but still good. On test, it cleared up Top 3 Automatic Vacuum Cleaners spillages well, but the mop pads couldn't get close to the edges of rooms.
